Fuller, Tostenson, Cross to lead West Fargo VFW, Auxiliary and Cooties
Arthur W. Jones VFW Post 7564, Ladies Auxiliary and Military Order of Cooties Pup Tent 8 recently had their election and installation of officers for the 2010-11 year.
Leading the VFW as Post Commander is Rick Fuller, an Army veteran who served in Korea. Fuller is a lifelong resident of West Fargo and graduated from West Fargo High School in 1967. He also is a member of the Military Order of Cooties and Disabled American Veterans, and is employed as a construction control representative with General Services Administration.
Laurie (Lulu) Tostenson is the newly elected President of the Ladies Auxiliary. She originally is from Leeds, N.D., and moved to West Fargo following her husband's death. Her eligibility of the Auxiliary is through her husband's service in Vietnam. Tostenson became involved with the West Fargo Auxiliary when she met her late soul mate, Roger Jacobsen. Tostenson has a daughter, Tracy, and a granddaughter, Erin. She is employed as a para sub with Fargo Public Schools.
Gene Cross is the newly elected Commander of the Military Order of Cooties Pup Tent 8 of West Fargo. Gene is married to Carol and they are lifelong residents of the West Fargo area. Cross served in the Navy and the Air Guard, and recently retired from Wayne's Electric, which he owned following his father's death.
The West Fargo VFW and Ladies Auxiliary have a rich tradition in enhancing the lives of many people through it's community service programs, special projects and maintaining the National VFW motto of "Honoring the dead by helping the living."
Military Order of Cooties Pup Tent 8 "Pack Rats" is the "Honor Degree" of VFW Post 7564. The Cooties are dedicated members who perform duties involving the aid to hospitalized veteran, donating blood and working VFW membership, in addition to the various VFW projects within the Post and community.
West Fargo VFW Club on Sheyenne Street is open to the public.
