Girls basketball top Roughriders
The Packer girls have now played every team in the Eastern Dakota Conference, and they have won every game.
“We have a tendency to make more mental mistakes against chaotic teams,” head coach Barb Metcalf. “Even though we made our share of mistakes in the first half, I was pleased that we were able to follow through on our halftime adjustments to gain a better flow to the game for our players.”
The Pack had a new leading scorer in junior guard Alison Enno, who scored 20 points and had 6 steals in the game. She also made all eight of her free throw attempts, as well as both of her three-point attempts.
Close behind was senior forward Cassidy Nelson with 16 points, six rebounds and four made free throws in five attempts.
As a whole, the Packers shot 89.4 percent from the line.
They are now the last undefeated team in Class A basketball.
“We are far from peaking and far from being perfect on the court,” Metcalf said. “The kids know that and take pride in working hard in practice fixing our previous game’s mistakes and building that master piece or perfect game down the road.”
The Packers host the Wahpeton Huskies on Saturday for a 7:30 p.m. game.
