Get your motorcycle, classic car, hot rod, street rod or cruiser ready for a beautiful drive during the tenth annual Home Builders Care Charity Ride Aug. 17. The first registration point will be at Home Builders Association of Fargo-Moorhead, 1802 32nd Ave. S., starting at 10:30 a.m. Registration will also be available at noon at E.L. Peterson Park, Pelican Rapids, Minn.
The ride is organized by the Fargo Motor Patrol and Charity Ride Committee. Proceeds will benefit Home Builders Care of Fargo-Moorhead Foundation, charitable arm of the Home Builders Association of Fargo-Moorhead.
Home Builders Care of Fargo-Moorhead Foundation is the HBA of F-M's charitable organization. Its funds are earmarked for skill training, education and projects related to the housing industry. Its goals are to promote, organize and coordinate the community outreach efforts of the home building industry. The Foundation and HBA of F-M members built a home with Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity in 2012. The Foundation has provided more than $157,000 in scholarship money to area university, technical school and high school students over the past several years. In 2009, Home Builders Care of Fargo-Moorhead Foundation and HBA of F-M members remodeled a 100-year-old home in Fargo's neighborhood revitalization district that was sold to a young workforce family.
