Howard R. Andersen, 67, Fargo, died Wednesday, April 20, 2011, in the Frazee, Minn. Care Center.
Howard was born Dec. 29, 1943, in Fargo, as the only child of Herman and Gertie (Johnson) Andersen. He was raised on the family farm near Buffalo, N.D., and graduated from Buffalo High School in 1961. Howard attended Interstate Business College in Fargo for three years. He also lived in California for a short time before returning to Fargo. Howard was a Shaklee distributor and a taxi driver, which satisfied his love of driving, but his main interest was music, specifically the promotion and production of local events and groups. He also loved traveling and photography and was frequently called upon to photograph weddings and other events for area friends and families.
Through the years, Howard was devoted to the care of his mother, Gertie, attending to her every need until her death in 1983.
Howard suffered a stroke in late December 2010, and moved to the Frazee Care Center in February 2011.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral arrangements and visitation were planned for Tuesday, in West Funeral Chapel, West Fargo. His burial will be held at the Buffalo Cemetery.
