Insight Support Group to meet November 9
Insight, a local support group for persons who are blind and sight impaired in the Fargo area community, will hold its next monthly meeting on Saturday, Nov. 9, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in the Community Room at New Horizon’s Manor, 2525 Broadway N. in Fargo. Join Jesse Shirek and fiancee Sherry DeFrancesco who will lead an open discussion relative to sight loss. Jesse is a vision specialist with North Dakota Vision Services/ School for the Blind.
Issued addressed will include: Are you treated differently because you don’t see as well as you did previously? Are you constantly reminded that you are the “blind” one? Do you feel like your family members and friends don’t understand when or when not to help you? Do you ever find yourself frustrated or feeling alone because of your vision loss?
Attend and share your story and experiences, or just listen to gain support. There will be discussion on some of the ways to cope with the stress of difficult situations when trying to get your needs met as a person who is blind or visually impaired.
