A historic event takes place during Ash Wednesday worship at Faith Lutheran Church Feb. 17 (today). In light of the important decision voted on at the church wide Assembly of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) this past summer to enter into full communion with the United Methodist Church, members of Flame of Faith UMC and Faith Lutheran will hold joint worship to celebrate this ecumenical partnership.
Pastor Mina Hall from Flame of Faith, and Pastor Peter Schmidt, Faith Lutheran, will hold a dialogue sermon. Members of Flame of Faith are invited to share in worship at Faith Lutheran at 5:30 and 7 p.m. Dinner prepared by the youth of Faith Lutheran will be served from 5 to 6:45 pm in the Fellowship Hall. Freewill donations will be accepted.
