The Lake Agassiz Girls Choir is holding auditions for the upcoming choir season on August 5-6 and August 17-20. LAGC is a community choral organization for girls in grades three through 12. All choirs rehearse once a week on Monday evenings. Each choir member pays tuition and an annual, non-refundable uniform/music fee. Scholarships are available for economically disadvantaged girls.
Canzonetta Choir is a beginning choir for girls in grades three and above. Emphasizing the develop of good vocal skills, rehearsal and performance skills and behaviors, along with music reading ability. Repertoire is mostly unison with an introduction to canons and simple two-part music.
Melodia is an intermediate choir open by audition to girls in grades five and above. This choir is designed to advance skills learned at the beginning level. Repertoire includes unison and two-part music with an introduction to three-part music. Kathy Lindquist is our Canzonetta and Melodia director.
Cantare is open by audition to experienced singers grades six and above who have demonstrated excellent vocal skills, music reading ability, good rehearsal and performance skills and behaviors, and vocal independence. Pamela Burns is the Artistic Director and Cantare Choir Director.
Each choir performs at two major LAGC concerts, special community events throughout the season, and various tour experiences.
