National Library Week is April 10-16.  Patrons are asked to help celebrate. Bring back your overdue books this week and you will receive fine amnesty with all you're your late fees waived

Picture Yourself at the Library: Monday, April 11, 6 to 8 p.m., or Tuesday, April 12, at 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Make a picture frame and get your picture taken with your favorite book. Hear a terrific story, too.

Friends of the Library Book Sale: Saturday, April 16, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Fill a bag for $5 ($7 for non-members) or buy books individually for $1 (two children's books for $1).  Plenty of used books, audiobooks, and movies at bargain prices.Special Event:

Egg - Stravaganza: Saturday, April 9, 12:30 to 2 p.m. Take the family to the library for an egg hunt, an egg craft, and an egg story. All ages welcome.Regular Events:

Computer Basics - Navigating Your Computer: Thursday, April 7, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. If you've never used a computer before or have very limited experience, this is the class for you. Learn the basics of using a mouse, discover the difference between programs and files, and get to know the generation navigation of a computer. Sign-up at the service desk or call 433-5460.

Genealogy: Saturday, April 9, 12 to 4 p.m. Genealogist Jackie Marler will be available to help explore family histories. Take your projects or just ask questions.

"Young at Heart" Senior Program: Touch of Spring, Tuesday, April 12, 10:15 to 11:30 a.m. All supplies provided. Sign-up at the service desk or call 433-5460 (required).

Knitty Giddy: Tuesday, April 12, 6:30 p.m. If you are an experienced knitter, take along your projects and knit; if you are a new knitter, take your size 8 to size 10 needles and a skein of yarn and you will receive help getting started. Fun, relaxed group.

Storytime: Thursday, April 7, 6:30 p.m., "Puppy Tales;" Tuesday, April 12, 1:30 p.m., "The Library Dragon;" Thursday, April 14, 6:30 p.m., "The Libearians & Goldie Socks."

Friday Morning Movie: April 8, 10:30 a.m., "Alice in Wonderland." In this Disney version of Lewis Carroll's children's story, Alice becomes bored and chases a white rabbit down its hole, not realizing a most bizarre series of adventures that will unfold. (Rated G, Disney, 75 min.)

Saturday Movie Mania: April 9, 2 p.m., "Pocahontas." A British explorer lands in 17th America in search of treasure, where a Native American Chief's daughter teaches him the real treasure of America isn't gold.  (Rated G, Disney, 84 min).

April tech classes cover some great topics that will help keep you in touch with family and friends, or just enjoy music on your own.

iTunes: Thursday, April 14, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Dive into the world of digital music. Use a computer to create a free iTunes account, rip music from a CD to a computer, and transfer it to an iPod. Watch and learn how it is done, or bring your own laptop, iPod, and CD if you want to get hands on practice. Sign-up at the service desk or call 433-5460.

Picasa: Thursday, April 21, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Not sure what to do with all those pictures stored on your digital camera (or phone)?  Discover how to transfer pictures from the camera to the computer, edit using Picasa (a free software program), and save and share with others. Facebook: Thursday, April 28, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Facebook is an extremely popular social media website that can link you to friends and family.  Learn how to set up an account and start networking online.  If you want, a digital photo can be taken that can be used in your Facebook profile.
