Special Events:

Mitten Mystery: Thursday, Dec. 15, 7 to 8 p.m. Visit the library for a story, craft, and mitten scavenger hunt. Door prizes and refreshments. Take a pair of mittens, a hat, or a scarf to add to the mitten tree (optional).  All items will be donated to West Fargo Schools to help keep children warm this winter.

Mitten Tree: The library's Mitten Tree will be up and awaiting donations through the end of the December. Donated mittens, scarves, and hats will be hung on the tree and donated to West Fargo School children.

Afternoon Computer Classes: Senior Surf Days - Internet, Wednesday, Dec. 14, 1 p.m. Sign up at the service desk or call 433-5460.

Technology Thursday: Create a Family Newsletter Using Microsoft Publisher (II), Thursday, Dec. 15, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. It's week two of the newsletter-creating workshop. Take your text and photos to the library, and use Microsoft Publisher to create an impressive document that you can save, print or email. Register at the service desk or call 433-5460.

Genealogy: Saturday, Dec. 17, 12 to 4 p.m. Genealogist Jackie Marler will be available to help you explore family histories. Take your projects or just ask questions.

Ham Radio Group: Wednesday, Dec. 14, 6:45 to 8:45 p.m. Open to adults interested in learning about ham radio.

Knitty Giddy: Tuesday, Dec. 20, 6:30 p.m. If you are an experienced knitter, take along your projects and knit; if you are a new knitter, take your size 8 to size 10 needles and a skein of yarn and you will receive help getting started.

Simply Stories: Tuesday, Dec. 20, 10 a.m. Take your little ones to the library and enjoy two stories. Unlike regular storytimes, this program is just stories - no crafts.  If you're looking for stories and crafts, visit the library Tuesdays at 1:30 or Thursdays at 6:30.

Storytime: Thursday, Dec. 15, 6:30 p.m., "Bob's Life;" Tuesday, Dec. 20, 1:30 p.m., "Santa and the Three Bears;" Thursday, Dec. 22, 6:30 p.m., "A Creature Was Stirring."

Friday Morning Movie: Dec. 16, 10:30 a.m., "Barbie and the Christmas Carol." Barbie stars as Eden Starling, a Scrooge-like character, who forces her fellow performers to work on Christmas Day. Starling is visited by three ghosts who hope to awaken the Christmas spirit. (Rated E, 76 min.)

New Movie Saturday: Dec. 17, 2 p.m., "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides." Captain Jack Sparrow battles with a woman from his past and the fearsome pirate Blackbeard. Starring: Johnny Depp, Penelope Cruz, and Geoffrey Rush. (Rated PG-13, 2 hours 16 min)

Upcoming Events:

Pick a Craft Friday: Dec. 23, 3 to 4 p.m. School's out for West Fargo Schools, so keep busy at the library. Choose a craft - picture frames, braided bracelets, painted pots, and leather bands - while supplies last. Simple fun for all ages.

End of Year Celebration: Friday, Dec. 30, 2 to 4:30 p.m. Enjoy games (Kinect Sports and Mario Cart Racing), crafts, and snacks - fun for the whole family.
