Mike Lindemann has announced that he will run as a Democrat for an open seat in the North Dakota State House in District 16.
District 16 is the brand new district in Fargo/West Fargo created this last year in response to rapid population growth in the area. The district runs from Main Avenue down to 40th Avenue South.
"Growing up in the Fargo/West Fargo area, Ive always been so impressed by our communitys drive to take care of one another," Lindemann said. "I want to bring that philosophy to the State Legislature. This is the type of community that thinks nothing of pulling over on the side of the road on a cold, winter day to help a fellow driver out of the snow."
Lindemann wants to bring his expertise as a nurse to medical issues facing the state. Recognizing the major efforts to fight the flood these past years, he also wants to ensure permanent flood protection for the region. «Helping with the volunteer effort I know what its like to work hard for my community, but I also know what its like to hope that each year we fight the flood will be the last.»
Lindemann was born and raised in Fargo and currently lives in West Fargo. He graduated from Fargo South High and will be graduating this spring as a nurse from North Dakota State University, Fargo.
