Local Fair yearly highlight
The present Red River Valley Fairgrounds in West Fargo was officially dedicated on July 17, 1967, after the venue enjoyed an approximate 60-year run in a Fargo location.
The annual event is still going strong with the 2010 version set to begin Friday, July 9, and continue through Saturday, July 17, with a boat load of family-oriented activities sure to engage the interest and attention of everyone.
One first-time endeavor, sure to be a real crowd pleaser whether you are a kid or still a kid at heart, is the Days of the Dinosaur spectacular occupying Schollander Pavilion, that will be available for viewing and participation all week long.
Also worthy of mentioning is a performance by a 2005 West Fargo high grad many of you are already probably familiar with. Talented musical artist Angela Hunt, daughter of Dan and Sherri Hunt, formerly o f West Fargo, will be appearing Saturday, July 10, at 3 p.m. on the Main Stage along with three other Fargo artists. Angela's music has been played on Y94 and she is working on an upcoming CD.
So if you are looking for some new and exciting action that is a little bit out of the ordinary, head on out to the 2010 Red River Valley Fair - the perfect destination to spend a few hours or an entire day.
