Mary E. Sells, 89, West Fargo, ND died on Monday, February 28, 2011 at her home.

Mary Hohncke was born February 18, 1922 to Stella and Wilbur Hohncke. She attended the local schools and in January of 1940 graduated from Central High School in Fargo, ND. Following graduation she pursued a course of study in Radiology Technology attaining her National Certification in 1946. Mary held her Certificate in the field of Radiology for 60 years. In 1946, Mary married John Dickenson Sells. John worked for the Northern Pacific Railway and Mary worked in multiple clinical locations as she moved with her husband. These included sites from North Dakota to Washington State. Mary was a member of the Mecca Chapter of Eastern Star and received a 50-year membership acknowledgement for her many years of service. She was a lifelong member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church and was an active member in WELCA and quilters for most of those years. For many years Mary was an active member of PLS and enjoyed those friendships immensely.

Mary is survived by her son John Michael (Charlene Schreiber), grandson Christopher John, and great-grandsons John and Thomsen.  Mary was preceded in death by her husband, John, and her daughter, Gretchen, her parents, sister Shirley and brothers John and James.

At Mary's request there will be no funeral and a private internment. A Memorial Gathering will be held at West Funeral home in West Fargo on Saturday, June 25, 2011 from 1 to 3 p.m.
