Monika A. Tibbetts, 63, of Bemidji, died Thursday, December 6, 2007 at the North Country Regional Hospital in Bemidji.

Monika Anna Kraus was born to Anton and Anna Kraus on Aug. 14, 1944 in Rockendorf, Germany. She was one of nine children, and graduated from Westler High School. She worked for a dry cleaning service until she met and married Lyle Earl Tibbetts of Zerkel, Minn., on Dec. 22, 1964 in Bonbaden, Germany.

Monika lived her life to the fullest, enjoying her family and friends. She volunteered her time knitting baby blankets and donating them to area churches. Her talents and gifts included playing guitar, harmonica, and the piano; as well as her flair at cooking. She enjoyed playing cards, listening to country music at WE Fest, visiting on the phone, and animals, especially her cats.

Surviving Monika are her husband, Lyle Tibbetts; children Corina (Darrin) Bronczyk of Laporte, Minn., Sylvia Tibbetts of Frazee, Franklin John (Kelli) Tibbetts of Detroit Lakes and Anton Allen Tibbetts of Bemidji; six granddaughters and one grandson; four sisters and two brothers of Germany; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; brother; twin sister; her in-laws; two brothers-in-law; a great nephew and twin great nieces.

Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 10, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Bemidji, with the Rev. Mark Kindem officiating. Interment was at the Hubbard Cemetery in Hubbard, Minn.

Cease Family Funeral Home, Bemidji, was entrusted with arrangements.
