The Dakota Medical Foundation and Impact Foundation have selected the North Dakota 4-H Foundation to participate in the 2013 Giving Hearts Day, a 24-hour online fundraising event on Feb. 14.
On Giving Hearts Day, all donations of $10 or more made to select nonprofit organizations are matched by the Dakota Medical Foundation (DMF) or other community donors. This event gives nonprofits such as the North Dakota 4-H Foundation an opportunity to raise awareness about their organizations, identify new donors and secure more money for their missions.
Contributions of $10 or more to the North Dakota 4-H Foundation will be matched up to $5,000 by the foundation's sponsors: AgCountry Farm Credit Services, Inland Oil and Gas, and Julie Burgum. The top 10 organizations that receive the most online contributions will receive additional funding from the DMF.
The North Dakota 4-H Foundation secures and manages financial resources to enhance and expand the state's 4-H program. Funds raised will support state and local 4-H leadership development and educational opportunities in areas of animal and plant science; consumer and family science; healthy lifestyle education; engineering and technology; environmental and earth sciences; citizenship and personal development; communications; and expressive arts.
To support the North Dakota 4-H Foundation and have your donation matched, go to http://www.impactgiveback.org on Feb. 14 and click on the Giving Hearts Day "Donate" button.
The first Giving Hearts Day was in 2008. It generated 1,452 online donations totaling $325,000 for local nonprofit organizations. The DMF's match funding and incentive grant funds provided an additional $165,000. In 2012, 10,850 donations to 140 charities raised $1,634,620, and matching and incentive funding provided another $504,207.
