NDSU hosting youth urban gardening program

Gardening is an excellent form of stress relief, relaxation, and a way to help provide for your own healthy nutritional needs.

Each boy and girl who enrolls in the North Dakota State University Extension Service Cass County garden program will have a 20-by-20-foot garden plot to plan, plant, maintain and harvest as their own. The program is open to youth 6 to 17 years of age.

Youth who enroll in the Urban Garden Program will be assembled into garden groups with one or more adult garden leaders per group. The adult garden leaders provide gardening educational materials, provide counsel to the youth gardeners and help coordinate the Urban Garden Program.

To enroll in the 2014 Urban Garden Program, contact Todd Weinmann at Cass County Extension office at 1010 2nd Ave. S., Fargo or or call (701) 241-5707.
