Packer girls trounce Grand Forks Central

West Fargo's girls basketball team proved why it was ranked first in preseason polls on Thursday, as they beat up on the Grand Forks Central Knights by a score of 72-47.

The Packers built up a 21-point lead by halftime and did not look back in the second half, extending their lead to 25 by the end of the game.

The girls were led by junior forward Kaitlin Langerud's 11 points and junior guard Amanda Levin, who had 10 points.

Juniors Cass Thorson and Shelby Gustafson both tallied nine points for the Packers.

Senior guard Lexi Lennon scored eight points and sophomore center Cassidy Nelson had seven.

The 2-1 Packers will host the Fargo North Spartans on Friday night at 4:30 p.m.
