Both junior boys and girls teams, ages 12-18, competed in the tournament that drew over 5,000 athletes, fans and college recruiters from all over the nation.

The three "ND United" volleyball teams -- one in the 15U, 16U and 17U divisions -- went to Chicago, Ill., to participate in the tournament on Navy Pier.

All three North Dakota teams found some success in the national event.

The 15U team earned a spot in the Bronze Tournament, the 16U team earned third place in the Silver Tournament and the 17U team took third place in the Gold Tournament, which is the highest position a North Dakota team has ever earned.

The 16 West Fargo athletes that participated are Darian Chwialkowski, Kendra Johnson, Annie McIntosh, Brianna Arens, Jasmine Bruer, Keauna Hansen, Mikia Ferguson, Jenna Beck, MacKenzie Vanhoorn, Olivia Gravel, Tabby Miller, Kali Hegerle, Erica Rene, Courtney Suppa, Maggie McIntosh and Shelby Gustafson.
