The West Fargo girls’ tennis team started their 2013 season – albeit indoors – with an 8-1 victory over the Fargo North Spartans on Friday evening.

The matches – originally scheduled to take place at the West Fargo High School courts – were held at Courts Plus in south Fargo due to weather.

The Packers won eight of nine matches, with Sammie Smith, Kaylee Stock, Brooke Christensen and Jamie Freden earning victories in both singles and doubles play.

The Packers’ originally scheduled match for tomorrow against Jamestown has been postponed, but they will face Fargo Shanley on Friday at Courts Plus at 6 p.m.
