Pair charged after human remains found on Clay County farmstead

Patricia L. Nagel, 77, of Detroit Lakes, died Saturday, March 28, 2009 at Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes.

Patricia Lucine Turner was born to Thomas W. and Ella (Tonsager) Turner on Sept. 22, 1931 in Detroit Lakes. She attended Lincoln Elementary School in Detroit Lakes, then moved with her family to Brookings, S.D.

Patricia married George "Mack" Renney in Brookings in 1948. They moved to Detroit Lakes, where they later divorced. Pat worked as a housekeeper in the Detroit Lakes area, retiring in 2003. She married Elmer Nagel on Feb. 5, 1962 in Sioux Falls. He died in 1980.

Patricia enjoyed spending time with her family and was extremely proud of her grand and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed watching and feeding the birds, tending her flowerbeds, and cooking; she was well known for her soup and rolls.

Surviving Patricia are her children, Linda (Wayne) Fagerlie of Detroit Lakes, Bob (Kathy) Renney of Detroit Lakes, Ed (Patty) Renney of Moorhead and Ellen (Paul) Sillerud of Pelican Rapids; 18 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Elmer; son, Steve Renney; brothers, Bill, Edward and Marvin; and sisters, Betty, Evelyn and Katie.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 1 at the David-Donehower Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes, and at the church for one hour prior to services on Thursday.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, April 2 at First Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes, with the Rev. David Peterson officiating.

Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Detroit Lakes. The David-Donehower Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes is serving the family. Memories may be shared on-line at
