Peda Construction to host grand opening
Peda Construction is expanding their base of operation and will be hosting a special grand opening Aug. 23 and 24 to show off their brand new showroom at 420 Main St. in Horace.
Chad Peda is general contractor for the business he established four years ago that deals in all phases of full-service residential and commercial construction, including repair, remodeling additions, decks and patios. Peda focuses on the commercial end of the business, while Tim Redlin is in charge of residential aspects.
The business also features its own custom cabinet and woodwork division, offering kitchen cabinets, custom countertops, bathroom vanities, mantles, home offices, entertainment centers, home theaters, and much more.
A variety of handcrafted concrete products are also a part of the mix, including concrete countertops, great for kitchens, bathroom vanities, coffee tables, end tables and fireplace mantles; interior decorative concrete floors, stamped concrete overlays on concrete or wood floors, wall tiles, baseboards, sinks and more; and exterior decorative concrete ideal for patios, steps, sidewalks and driveways.
Originally from Fargo, Peda has always been self-employed and has always loved construction and woodwork. In 2003, he decided to pursue his passion by getting involved with commercial remodeling and working by referral. That portion of the business grew, so he branched out.
"One thing that we pride ourselves in is our self-performance," Peda said. "We have diverse talent that can handle every area of the construction process and customers find that we are able to do whatever it takes to get the job done."
The commercial end of the business is involved with a variety of services, including demolition, interior fit-up and remodeling as well as new construction, and working in conjunction with other contractors providing a specified division of a project, whether it's the framing, flooring, or finish work.
Redlin joined Peda Construction a year ago, overseeing the residential division that builds new custom homes as well as remodeling and additions. He has 13 years in the field, also previously self-employed, with experience in all areas and his specialty is seamless siding, windows, doors, etc.
Redlin said he is impressed by the direction Peda Construction has taken. "The thing that attracted me about Chad is his way of thinking big. We are trying to grow and expand, and we've got really talented and capable people on board. That is so important if you are going to be a major force in the construction industry."
He said he's also seeing a trend that is starting to move away from new home construction to more remodeling of existing homes.
Lisa Kiernan serves as marketing director as well as customer service manager for the company, coordinating all incoming inquiries and working with clients in assessing needs. Once contracts are set and in place, she transitions the clients to Redlin and he executes and manages the projects on a day-to-day basis.
Peda Construction also has 23 employees that make up the framing and finish crews for their variety of projects.
Peda is excited about the grand opening and the opportunity to show off their brand new showroom for the business. "We wanted to do something unique. There are so many options in interior finish and so much of what we do is uniquely creative and one-of-a-kind. The new showroom is a great way to show our clients the potential of what we are capable of doing."
Peda initially purchased the building a few years ago as a rental, decided he liked it and moved out to Horace. He has since gutted the entire building so that when complete, the interior and exterior will be totally new. In addition to the showroom, the project will also result in a new 2500 square foot cabinet shop in the back.
Peda welcomes everyone to stop out during the special grand opening to view the business and check out the services. The grand opening will also feature a combo-mystery-prize giveaway.
