Police Chief Rasmussen recuperating
West Fargo Police Chief Arland Rasmussen is recuperating following open heart surgery to repair blockage Saturday morning at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo.
Assistant Chief Mike Reitan said that Rasmussen is resting comfortably and is expected to be released later this week.
Rasmussen went into the emergency room last Thursday after experiencing chest discomfort. He was admitted and following a battery of tests on Friday, the blockage was discovered necessitating the need for the surgery.
Rasmussen’s family is requesting that visits be limited at this time to allow him the opportunity to rest.
In the meantime, his wife, Verna, and other family members thank everyone for their consideration and concern. “We really appreciate all the prayers and thoughts that have been sent our way,” Verna stated Monday afternoon. “We are so blessed to live in a community that shows such support.”
