Police: Meth lab found in West Fargo trailer
WEST FARGO - Two men will face charges of making methamphetamine after police say they found a meth lab in a search of a trailer home here today.
A Cass County drug task force executed the search warrant at 1004 3½ Ave. E. at about 9:30 a.m., allegedly finding a small amount of meth, paraphernalia and an inactive lab for manufacturing meth, Assistant Chief Mike Reitan said.
It took a meth-lab cleanup crew from the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the West Fargo Fire Department an hour to dispose of the lab, Reitan said.
Jeff Bomstad, 49, Fargo, and Kyle Smith, 45, West Fargo, were arrested at the home on suspicion of meth manufacturing as well as possessing meth and paraphernalia, Reitan said.
Debra Barstad, 41, Fargo, was also arrested on suspicion of possession of meth and paraphernalia, he said.
The search of the trailer in the Brookwood Mobile Home Court prompted the later execution of a second search warrant Monday at 807 10th St. S. in Fargo, where a small amount of meth and paraphernalia was found, Reitan said.
There were no additional arrests immediately made after the second search.
Meth labs have rarely been found in the area in recent years due to laws restricting the sale of its ingredients, Reitan said.
