Scarr new assistant director at West Fargo Library
Carrie Scarr has been named the new Assistant Director at the West Fargo Public Library, a position she will assume Oct. 1.
Scarr holds a B.A. in English Literature from Boise State University and an MLS from the University of North Texas. She has previously worked in public libraries in Boise, Idaho, Denton, Texas, and most recently at the Des Moines Area Community College in Iowa.
Library Director Sandra Hannahs said "we are delighted to have Carrie join us at the Library. She brings many wonderful qualities: professionalism, enthusiasm and energy, an understanding of libraries, and strong skills. We're sure she'll make a great contribution to the Library, and we look forward to working with her."
Scarr is looking forward to the challenges her position will present, taking on leadership roles in collection development and as technology liaison.
She is already familiar with the area. Her father and mother were originally from here and her grandmother and a great aunt and great uncle continue to make their home in Moorhead. "The Library is welcoming and the architecture impressive; it's going to be a great place to work and being able to live near some of my family is an added plus," she said.
The West Fargo Public Library is located in the Lodoen Community Center at 109 3rd St. E. Inquiries can be made by calling 433-5460.
