The West Fargo High School Exchange Club has named senior Sarah Schaeffer its Student of the Month for January. She is the daughter of Paul and Kim Schaeffer of West Fargo.
Sarah has been on the Student Council for three years and is currently serving as its vice president. She is also a member of the Principal's Student Advisory Board, the National Honor Society, Philanthropy and Youth (PaY) and the Friends of Rachel Club.
In the community, Sarah is a representative of the D.A.R.E. Youth Advisory Board and is a member of the Youth Summit Planning Committee, the Chamber of Commerce Youth Leadership Program and the FM Area Community Bullying Panel.
She also volunteers at Bethel Evangelical Free Church and Sheyenne Crossings Nursing Home. She is also an English Language Learner volunteer at Jefferson Elementary School.
Sarah maintains a 4.0 grade point average, has lettered in academics since her freshman year, and earned a scored of 30 on the ACT test.
After graduating, Sarah plans to attend Northwestern College in St. Paul, Minn., to earn a degree in biology and minor in Bible studies. She then plans to attend medical school.
