"We are excited about all of the additions to our team," Dragons coach Steve Laqua said. "They will compliment the athletes we have returning and will be key elements in assisting in the transformation of Dragon football."

Besides Schwartz, the 2011 freshman class will include Justin Bidwell (Maple Lake, Minn.), Frank Contreras (St. Thomas, N.D.), Tom Gruchow (Menahga, Minn.), Ryan Miles (Bloomington, Minn.), Kevin Nelson (Bemidji), Aaron Olson (Ada, Minn.), Ryan Toelle (Sisseton, S.D.), Drew Viken (Fosston, Minn.), Stefan Webber (Fargo) and Wade Youngblom (Sisseton, S.D.).

As a wide receiver, Schwartz led West Fargo to the Eastern Dakota Championship during his senior season. His six touchdowns and 37 catches for 659 receiving yards were team bests. On Sept. 24, he racked up 126 yards of receiving against Grand Forks Red River that stood as a season high for the Packers. Schwartz was a two-time All-State and All-Conference honoree.

Besides football, Schwartz also played basketball for the Packers. This winter, he was third in team points after averaging nearly 10 a game, and led the Packers in 3-pointers with 39.

Brady Schwartz is the son of Jan Schwartz and Wayne Schwartz.
