The current principal of Shanley High School, Ed Mitchell, has accepted the position as the next director of technology for West Fargo Public Schools.
Mitchell started his career in education in 2002 as a classroom teacher at Shanley High School/Sullivan Middle School. He took a classroom teaching job with West Fargo Public Schools in 2003 and continued to teach in the district until 2011. He then served as a technology integration specialist with the district for two years, before becoming principal of Shanley High School.
Mitchell has a master’s degree in educational leadership and a bachelor’s degree in history and social studies education, both from North Dakota State University.
“Mr. Mitchell’s excitement to rejoin the WFPS technology department was evident to everyone who engaged with him during the interview process,” Superintendent David Flowers said in a press release. “We are confident that his mix of classroom and technology experiences is what we need to support and advance the work being done by our technology department.”
Mitchell will start his new job on July 1.
The position was vacated by Rob Kaspari, who accepted a position with the state of North Dakota after 31 years with the West Fargo School District.
