Soccer fundraiser set for Engelking

On Friday, August 14, the West Fargo High School Boys' Soccer Program is asking all past players and all soccer fans to join them at the 5th Alumni Scrimmage to help raise funds for Ronnie Engelking and his wife Erika, also a past Packer soccer player. All funds raised will be presented to the Engelking family in a show of support as Ronnie looks to beat stage 2 Hodgkin's lymphoma.

In addition to Ronnie and Erika being past players, they are also past competitive coaches for the West Fargo Soccer Club. Admission will be charged and a freewill offering will also be accepted. Alumni are also being asked to pay a minimal registration fee to participate or just be on the sideline.

The scrimmage will be played at the Lodoen Stadium starting at 7 p.m. This year's WF Boys Varsity Soccer squad looks forward to the opportunity of scrimmaging many of the past players that have donned the green and white for a great cause.

Official start date for the 2009 high school season is August 10, at the Lodoen Center practice fields at 6a.m. and 6 p.m. For more information, contact Coach Doug Millar at 282-7879.
