South students help fight hunger through Empty Bowls program

South Elementary Empty Bowls 2012 proved to be a success as students, staff, and volunteers worked together in an effort to raise money for the Great Plains Food Bank. Fourth and fifth grade students under the instruction of art teacher Sarah Dotzenrod created unique clay bowls, which could be purchased with a donation by people eager to enjoy some delicious soup with proceeds going to the Food Bank.
