"North really is the team to beat in the conference," Packers' coach Marsha Dahl said. "Taking second is great for us."

The highlight of the night for the Packers came 4x200 freestyle team of Hallie Peterson, Brianna Faul, Julissa Johnson and Danica Dutt set a new conference and pool record with a time of 1:42.23 and a first-place finish in the event.

Other first place finishes for the team came from Dutt, who finished the 100 butterfly with a time of 59.31, and Peterson, who finished the 100 freestyle with a time of 55.96.

The team also got second-place finishes from Dutt, Peterson, and Taylor Laufenberg, as well as third-place finishes from Johnson and Emily Bourassa.

The team also had five swimmers (second-most behind North) named to the All-Eastern Dakota Conference team. Those swimmers were Bourassa, Johnson, Dutt, Peterson and Mykin Gunning.

The swimming and diving teams will now head to Bismarck this weekend for the State meet. Preliminaries for both will take place on Friday and the finals are set for Saturday, diving at 11 a.m. and swimming at 1 p.m.

"We're hoping to go into the meet swimming better," Dahl said. "The kids are getting ready for it."
