Thompson benefit set

A benefit for West Fargo’s Clayton Thompson will be held at the West Fargo VFW on Friday at 4 p.m. and will include dinner, music and a guest speaker.

Thompson was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer – which had spread to his liver – roughly a year ago. He immediately began aggressive chemotherapy treatment, but blood clots and a brain tumor developed, requiring hospitalizations and surgery.

In September, surgeons at Mayo Clinic spent nine hours removing a football-sized tumor in his liver, but the tumors have since reappeared. He is currently undergoing a second round of chemotherapy at the Roger Maris Cancer Center in Fargo – all while still trying to remain an avid outdoorsman.

Donations can be sent to Capital Credit Union at 4900 13th Ave. S., Suite 5, in Fargo, with check made payable to “Clayton Thompson Benefit,” or online at

Lend A Hand will provide $5,000 in matching funds.
