Three wrestlers ranked first, four second in coaches' poll

Coming off a state championship with all but one of their starters returning for the season, the Packers wrestling team has been ranked first in the North Dakota Class A preseason coaches' poll.

On top of that, 14 Packers have been ranked in the top six of their weight class, with three of them ranked first.

Defending state champions Jordan Shearer and Preston Lehmann top the rankings in the 126-pound and 195-pound classes, respectively, along with junior Kollin Kragnes at 138 pounds.

132-pounder Trevor Kringlie, who will also be defending a state title this season, starts the season ranked second in the state, along with 103-pounder Keegan Cronin, 182-pounder Miles Scholl and three-time state champion Anjelo Shepard at 152 pounds.

Junior Reed Cronin (113 pounds) and sophomore Weston Dobler (145 pounds) are currently ranked third in their respective weight classes.

Coaches' poll rankings will be updated on Thursday, Dec. 13.

The Packers will head to Wahpeton this weekend to face Devils Lake, Grand Forks Central and Wahpeton in the Dan Uhruh Memorial Tournament.
