Volleyball wins one of two matches

The Packers had a mixed bag of a week, beating the Valley City Hi-Liners 3-0 last Tuesday before falling to Fargo North 3-2 on Thursday.

In Tuesday's match - in which West Fargo won with scores of 25-20, 25-16 and 25-20 - the Packers were led by senior Andrea Klug with 32 assists, along with two blocks and an ace.

Senior Christina Bruenjes was also a major contributor with 10 kills. Courtney Suppa and Amanda Levin also chipped in with eight and six kills, respectively.

Libero Jolene Woodbury had nine digs.

In Thursday's loss (25-21, 10-25, 25-22, 23-25, 12-15), the Packers were led once again by Andrea Klug, who tallied 43 assists and 19 digs.

Levin, Bruenjes and Suppa led the way with kills (15, 12 and 11 respectively), along with junior Shelby Gustafson, who chipped in with 10 kills.

The Packers now move to 10-8 on the season and 6-3 in the Eastern Dakota Conference. While they are currently ranked fifth in the conference, they are just 2.5 games out of first.

They will travel to Fargo Shanley to participate in the Fargo Invitational Friday and Saturday. They will then travel to Wahpeton Tuesday night to take on the Huskies.
