On Saturday, West Fargo will host its 2011 Invitational Cross Country meet at Johnson Park in Moorhead.

Middle school girls will kick off the day at 2 p.m. with their 3,000-meter race, followed by the middle school boys. The invite will round out with junior varsity girls (3,000 meters), JV boys (4,000 meters), varsity girls (4,000 meters), and varsity boys (5,000 meters).

Awards will be given for the first 20 places in boys and girls varsity, while team champions will receive trophies. Junior high and JV will receive ribbons for placers in the first 25 spots.

The top five runners will count for team score, and ghost scoring will be used only if teams have less than five runners.

Johnson Park does not have locker rooms, so runners are asked to come dressed and prepared for their race.

Most of the course is on a rough, grass surface with a few dirt paths. Participants should note that there may be a few rough spots.

Johnson Park is located on 11th Street N, on the west side of the road.
