“Spamalot” is an outrageous musical comedy “lovingly ripped off” from the cult classic film “Monty Python and the Holy Grail.” It features a chorus line of dancing divas, flying cows, killer rabbits, flatulent Frenchmen and a legless, armless knight to tell the story of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table as they embark on their quest for the Holy Grail.
“Spamalot” is the winner of the 2005 Tony Award for best musical. It features a book and lyrics by Monty Python alum Eric Idle and music by Idle and John Du Prez. This production is adapted from the original “Holy Grail” screenplay by Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin. The West Fargo Summer Arts Intensive production serves as the show’s regional amateur premiere theater program. The Summer Arts Intensive is led by local arts educators and professionals and is made possible through collaboration with the West Fargo Public Schools.
