Wet conditions impede Main Avenue work

Wet weather the past few weeks is slowing down Main Avenue reconstruction and the official completion of the project spanning 6th Street West to 5th Street East, which was originally targeted for the middle of the month, is going to take a little bit longer.

Expectations are to have the project completed by the end of next week. Striping is now about 80 percent complete. Remaining efforts include completing the striping, seeding and topsoil work, sidewalk installation in various areas, mostly on both sides of the West Fargo Post, some intersection work on Morrison Street, and having the light signals operational, hopefully by the end of this week.

Crews have also been busy working on the guard rail detail in the rain and have had to dry out some areas for work to proceed because it has been too muddy. Officials say a few days of dry weather will greatly benefit remaining work activity.
