Red River Valley Fair kicks off July 9

The Red River Valley Fair is back bigger and better than ever July 9 through July 14 with six great days of music, entertainment and other on ground activities in its convenient location on the west edge of West Fargo. The Fair will open its gates at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 9.

Working off the theme "Crave the Fun" the 2013 version will be jam packed with events sure to appeal to everyone beginning with the grandstand entertainment line-up, again a mixed bag of country and rock performances.

Highlighting this venue will be some of country's up and coming finest -- Randy Houser whose big hits include "Anything Goes," "Boots On," and "How Country Feels;" Hunter Hayes, who was the 2012 CMA's new artist; and The Band Perry, one of fastest rising country groups who was scheduled to appear last year but was forced to postpone until this year due to an album recording conflict.

On the rock side, Hairball, the ultimate 80s rock impersonation act, will be back for a return visit, along with Hinder, a rock band from Oklahoma, and Sevendust, a heavy metal band from Atlanta.

The daily line-up includes: Tuesday, July 9 - Randy Houser; Wednesday, July 10 - Hairball; Thursday, July 11 - Hinder; Friday, July 12 - Hunter Hayes, Saturday, July 13 - The Band Perry; and Sunday, July 14 - Sevendusts.

The grandstand entertainment is free with paid gate admission: $8 for adults (ages 12 and older); $4 for children ages 6-11; and ages 5 and under free. All concerts will get underway at 8 p.m.

In addition, the Beer Garden Entertainment is free the paid gate admission featuring a variety of local groups including: July 9, Boomtown; July 10, Tripwire, July 11; Mongo Bongo, July 12, Redline; July 13, Scotty G and The Follow Me; and July 14, Ska-Skank Redemption.

Also back by popular demand is the Murphy Brothers Exposition, opening at 1 p. m. on Tuesday, July 9, and continuing through the remaining Fair dates.

The 4-H exhibits will also be a high point and diversity of food vendors will also prevail, with a little bit of everything the best way to describe the diverse choices.

Several gate promotions are planned to save money for those planning to attend the 2013 Red River Valley Fair. For more information about events times and locations, ticket pricing, and parking, visit or call the fair office at 701-282-2200.
