The Fraase family was recognized as the North Dakota 4-H Century Family at the Cass County 4-H Awards Celebration on Sept. 22 at the Red River Valley Fairgrounds, West Fargo. The North Dakota 4-H Century Family program recognizes 4-H families with a long, sustained involvement in the 4-H program, having a combined 100 years or more of direct-line family membership and volunteer service in 4-H.

The Fraase’s represent four generations of commitment, recognized for 187 years of involvement in the 4-H program, including the Ramona and late Elmer Fraase family from Buffalo, N.D., their children, Ann Fraase, Ron Fraase (Gwen), Lee Fraase (Jennifer) and Sue Gerhold (Scott) along with their grandchildren Justin Fraase, Andrew Fraase (Danielle), Micah Fraase and Matthew Fraase. Ramona’s deceased parents, August and Inez Zaeske, were also involved in 4-H.

The program is coordinated by the North Dakota 4-H Foundation, Inc., and the North Dakota 4-H Youth Development Program. Applications can be submitted at any time to your local County Extension Office.
