WF Schools creates new support & wellness coordinator job
The West Fargo School Board approved creating a new support and wellness coordinator position on Aug. 13.
This position is the first of its kind for West Fargo Public Schools and is expected to have a lasting impact on students' mental and physical well-being.
This position will be responsible to:
• work with the district's MTSS (multi-tiered system of support) staff to promote student success in areas of both academic school work and social/emotional skills
• create a curriculum for mental and physical health that can be used district-wide
• implement support structures for students dealing with behavior issues
• facilitate staff professional development in mental health topics
The district has hired Dawn Miller as its first support and wellness coordinator. She has worked for West Fargo Public Schools since 2007 as a special education coordinator.
