Letter: Post prom, grad organizers appreciative of support

On behalf of our WF Post Prom and Post Grad Committee we would like to express our congratulations to our area graduates from WFHS and Community High. Just a reminder that the annual Post Graduation Celebration will be held on May 26 from 10:30 p.m. to 4 a.m. at the WFHS. This event is open to all seniors who are allowed to invite one guest (under the age of 21) with a cost of $10 per person at the door. All activities, food and prizes are included with the entrance fee.

Our committee has been meeting monthly all school year to plan and prepare for this event and we hope you will encourage your students to attend this safe, alcohol and drug free celebration. The hours following graduation have historically been some of the most tragic across our state due to traffic crashes involving alcohol; we do not want to see any of our students become a statistic.

Our activities include: Bingo, Karaoke, Laser Tag, Darts, Games To Go, Blackjack, Texas Hold'em, Roulette, Cash Cube, Hypnotist, Photo Booth and a Dodgeball tournament. There will be many door prizes given throughout the night and chances to bid on additional great prize packages. Our final grand prize drawings will be held at the end of the night and students must be present to win any of the following prizes: dorm refrigerators, luggage, microwaves, laptop computers, beats headphones, iPad Minis, 40" flat screen tv's, wireless printers, blu-ray players, IPOD touch's and cash. You will not want to miss out.

Our committee is still in need for additional assistance from adult volunteers for this event. We welcome any adults interested in helping by signing up on our volunteer site at: If you have questions regarding this event you may contact us by email at

We truly appreciate the support of our local merchants, civic groups and parents who have generously donated money, items and time to another year of safe celebrations for our area youth. We remain committed to sponsoring these events for years to come and without your support this would not be possible. Thanks again for your continued support!
