Volleyball: Roemmich honored for her years of service

Twila Roemmich, a West Fargo volleyball coach, recently was honored for her service.

North Country Region Volleyball named Roemmich a recipient of the Robert L. Lindsay Meritorious Service award, which is given for contributing outstanding participation, motivation and other services in the promotion of volleyball. She was one of four regional recipients of the distinction.

Roemmich currently coaches seventh-, eighth- and ninth-grade volleyball, and acts as the varsity sophomore coach. She has helped put on volleyball camps in West Fargo and the surrounding area. Roemmich has coached club volleyball in West Fargo for eight years, and has been the Director of the West Fargo Volleyball Club for six.

Roemmich's other accomplishments include:

• West Fargo Volleyball Club Tournament Director for seven years.

• NCR Board of Directors member for nearly four years.

• NCR Member volleyball participant for eight years.

• Optimist All-Star Volleyball Match volunteer for three years.

Roemmich has taught seventh-grade math in West Fargo for 10 years, and taught for a year in Minot before that.

She originally is from Washburn, N.D.
