The West Fargo track teams had another strong performance in Friday’s State Class A indoor meet at NDSU. The girls finished second out of 14 teams with a score of 82.83 and the boys took fourth with 54 points.

The Packer girls earned 14 top-five finishes in various events, including a first-place finish from senior Christina Bruenjes in the triple jump.

The boys had eight athletes finish in the top five.

“We were able to score points in all areas,” head coach Darin McKinnon said. “Having that balance proved to be a difference maker in the final team results.”

Junior Amanda Levin finished second in both the 60-and 400-meter dashes.

The boys’ top finish came from the 4x800 relay team, which finished first with a time of 8:35.88, and senior Jordan Bischoff, who finished first in the high jump.

“I thought our kids came ready to compete and their performances showed that in their events,” McKinnon said. “Anytime there is a meet of this level our athletes have to be at the top of their game. Having the girls finish second as a team and the boys fourth with all of the talent from the state under one roof tells a lot of our focus and competitiveness.”

The Packers next event is the EDC Indoor Championships, also at NDSU, on Friday, April 5.
