Levin named Gatorade Player of the Year

West Fargo junior Amanda Levin was named Gatorade Player of the year for North Dakota track. She is West Fargo's first girls track and field athlete to earn the award.

The award comes after Levin's dominant performance at the North Dakota State Track and Field Tournament, in which she took first in the 100-, 200- and 400-meter dashes, becoming the first Packer to claim the title in any of those three events.

Off the track, Levin is active in her church as volunteer Sunday school teacher and has maintained a 3.49 GPA in the classroom.

"Amanda being recognized as the top female track and field athlete for class A is quite an honor and well deserved," Packers coach Darin McKinnon

The Gatorade Player of the Year program annually recognizes one winner from each sport in each state. It also awards one National Player of the Year in each sport.
