The Packer baseball team’s penultimate regular season week was a big one, as they picked up two victories against both Fargo North on Tuesday and Grand Forks Central on Thursday before splitting a doubleheader with Fargo North on Friday.

Their first game saw junior pitcher Ben Strahm pick up another victory, striking out six batters in the process.

The Packer bats came out strong right away, getting four runs in the first inning to keep Strahm comfortable. They eventually won 11-0.

The second game saw a 5-4 victory from junior pitcher Matthew Hewitt. The team once again jumped to an early lead, scoring all five runs in the second inning.

Their first game against the Knights was a 7-3 win, thanks to outfielder Devin Wagenman’s three RBIs.

Their second game was a 9-1 thrashing that saw Wagenman pick up the win on the pitcher’s mound.

Senior Danny Benson went 2-for-3 with three RBIs in the second game.

Their final victory of the week came, once again, at the hands of the Spartans, thanks to a 13-strikeout, one-hit performance from senior Chase Gooding, who is now 3-0 on the season.

The Spartans got a small dose of revenge in the second game, winning 5-2 in a game that was tied at 2-2 until the eighth inning.

The Packers travel to Fargo South on Thursday for a 7 p.m. game. They then cap off the regular season with an away game against Shanley on Friday.
