The 2013 version is offering more of the same, encouraging everyone to "Crave the Fair," whether you're looking for concerts, midway rides, ag exhibits, or good old fairway food.

Seems summer's midpoint has arrived with the Fourth of July holiday tomorrow. At least that point is usually heralded as the benchmark, whether it is actually the case or not. No matter how we choose to observe the day, safe and happy should be the two words that fit into the equation. Many will achieve that through traditional Fourth of July celebrations involving family and friends.
No particular theme this week - just a potpourri of some of my favorite "sweet" recipes, not only amazingly easy to toss together but also delightfully delicious to serve whether you are entertaining on the patio or having a more formal get-together with family or friends. Apples from home orchards should be plentiful soon. The "Apple Crunch" recipe is one of the best I've encountered. What sets it apart is the clear filling that smothers the apples as they bake, with the gooey texture permeating the oatmeal crumb topping.
