West Fargo High School guitar students will present their Spring Guitar Concert on Thursday evening, May 16 at 7:30 p.m. in the WFHS Theater. Fifty student guitarists as well as several adult students will be performing. Among the pieces on the program will be "Yellow Submarine," "Stand By Me," "My Girl,, "Iris," and "American Pie." The WFHS guitar program is under the direction of Mark Berntson.
Austin Albrecht, son of John & Lori Albrecht, West Fargo, has earned the rank of Eagle Scout and will be recognized at a Court of Honor ceremony at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 19th, at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Austin is a senior at West Fargo High School and a member of Troop 274 with Steve Fischer as Scoutmaster. His Eagle Scout project was constructing 17 wooden receptacle holders for Bonanzaville.
The West Fargo Police Department will be hosting Coffee with a Cop on Thursday, May 16, at Sheyenne Crossings on the corner of Sheyenne Street and Thirteenth Avenue. Shane Orn, a patrol officer for the Police Department who has recently moved into a DEA Task Force position will be the featured speaker.
Moore Engineering, Inc., a civil engineering and land surveying company with locations in West Fargo, Minot, Fergus Falls and Wadena recently hired twelve employees in their West Fargo and Minot Offices.
Matthew J. De Vries of the financial services firm Edward Jones in West Fargo, has been authorized by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards (CFP Board) to use the certification mark CFP. De Vries successfully completed CFP Board's initial certification requirements, which include completion of financial planning coursework and passing a comprehensive examination.
A benefit will be held for Paula Gustafson, wife of the late Olaf "Coon" Gustafson of Mapleton, on Thursday, May 23 at the West Fargo VFW.
West Fargo High School senior Jodi Arie Stende has been named the West Fargo Exchange Club Student of the Month for May. She is the daughter of John and Jodi Stende of West Fargo. Throughout high school, Stende has maintained a weighted GPA of 4.2 and is a four-year academic letter winner. Stende is very active in music programs at West Fargo High School. She has performed in jazz ensemble, the James D. Ployhar Honor Band and the all-state band. She also served as media specialist for the symphonic band and as treasurer for the concert choir.
